This past weekend, I headed over to the Four Chord Music Festival – Pittsburgh’s fairly new, annual pop-punk festival. A few hundred people jam packed themselves into a nightclub in the Strip District to see a few really tremendous acts, including one of my all time favorites, Mayday Parade. Pittsburgh is often forgotten on major tours so it’s really fantastic that there’s a show that people can look forward to every autumn.
I’ve never been to the festival before, but I know they’ve had some pretty rad acts and this year was no exception. I also had the MOST delicious veggie curry from a food truck outside. It was freezing out but that spicy eggplant and potato bowl kept me warm and toasty.
I also am so very grateful that Mayday Parade played this show because it was the first stop on their mini 10th anniversary tour, playing Tales Told by Dead Friends in its entirety, which also meant I got to hear one of my favorite songs of all time (“Three Cheers for Five Years”) played live for the first time ever. It was a dream.
All in all, 10/10 for the show, 5/10 for my photos. Not my best work – the lighting was ultra harsh and I hadn’t shot a show in weeks so I was a bit rusty. It was still fun though!
Please enjoy and don’t forget to credit back to me!
