A few weeks ago, my friend/co-worker Will came up to my office and told me how his mom was getting married that weekend and his friend who was planning to photograph the evening had bailed. So four days before the wedding, I jumped on board as their photographer with zero information, aside from the fact that it was Will’s mom and the wedding would be at The Grand Concourse. The ceremony happened at the top of the grand staircase with about 30 friends and family. I was sandwiched between a wall and a plant, right next to the couple, and it was a cloudy evening so the room was very dark. But none of that mattered when it came to the actual event. Being able to capture Will walking his mom up the stairs, watching a man so fully open his heart in front of everyone, and see how undeniably happy this woman was – it was such a beautiful evening. Jenn and Andre were incredibly welcoming and so intent on making sure I was not just working but enjoying the celebration as well. It was a quick evening but I would have stayed for the entire day if I could. I cannot wish this sweet couple more love and happiness for the rest of their lives.
